The cleaning principle of dry ice blasting cleaning machine:


Step 1. The dry ice particles are accelerated in the high-pressure airflow, impact the surface to be cleaned at a speed close to the speed of sound, and gasify at the moment of impact. The momentum of the dry ice disappears at the moment of impact, and heat transfer occurs rapidly between the dry ice particles and the cleaning surface, resulting in rapid solid CO2 sublimates into a gas.


 

Step 2. Since the temperature difference can destroy the combination of materials with different thermal expansion coefficients, dry ice particles (-78.5°C) impact the surface to be cleaned, making the dirt freeze embrittled and burst, resulting in "cracks", which affects the mechanical properties of the adhered dirt.


Step 3. The dry ice particles impact the cracks between the dirt, and the volume expands nearly 800 times in a few thousandths of a second, forming countless "micro-explosions" to peel off the dirt from the surface. At the same time, with the grinding and impact of dry ice particles, and the blowing and shearing of compressed air, the dirt is stripped from the surface to be cleaned in solid form, thereby achieving the purpose of removal. Due to the volatilization of CO2, no secondary waste is produced during the dry ice blasting process, leaving only the dirt that needs to be cleaned.


 

Advantages of dry ice blasting


1. The low temperature of dry ice reduces the adhesion ability of dirt and increases the brittleness


2. Micro-explosion. After the dry ice particles drill into the dirt cracks, they are gasified within a few thousandths of a second, and their volume instantly expands by 600 to 800 times, and the dirt is peeled off the surface of the object.


3. Due to the sublimation of dry ice into gas, the cleaning process does not produce any secondary waste.


4. There is no need to disassemble the object to be cleaned, and online cleaning can be realized.


5. It is a non-destructive decontamination that does not damage the machine or the mold.


6. The places that cannot be cleaned with water can be completely replaced by dry ice cleaning.
