Plastic parts are molded parts made of thermoplastic elastomers or thermoplastic materials. Most of the burrs occur on the separation surface, that is, between the moving mold and the static mold, the sliding part of the slider, the gap of the insert, and the hole of the ejector pin. The molten material flows into other places, forming redundant flash burrs on the parts. These burrs are often concentrated in the right angles, grooves, outer circles, inner holes, cross holes, and counterbores of plastic parts.


Generally, the purely manual deburring process will more or less cause bruises, scratches or residues on the surface of the plastic parts, which consumes a lot of financial and manpower for the enterprise, and the effect is not very satisfactory. Because of the particularity of plastics, it is difficult to implement large-scale mechanical deburring. At the same time, chemical deburring is not recommended for plastic parts, because it will cause chemical reactions, damage or corrode plastic parts. In the mass production process, reasonable surface treatment methods must be adopted to make the surface smoothness of plastic parts meet the technical specifications and improve product quality and efficiency.

Dry ice deburring has excellent performance in solving the burrs after finishing that are unavoidable in the production process of plastic parts, and is welcomed by manufacturers.
