Dry ice cleaning principle

The dry ice cleaning process uses compressed air as the power to spray dry ice particles to the surface of the cleaned object at supersonic speed, and uses the ultra-low temperature performance of dry ice to achieve the purpose of decontamination.

1. Impact force. The dry ice impacts on the cleaned surface at high speed, and the escape of impact kinetic energy and the extremely rapid heat transfer between the dry ice particles and the cleaned surface cause the carbon dioxide to change from solid to gas in an instant.

2. "Micro explosion". When dry ice particles penetrate into the cracks of dirt, they will vaporize in several thousandths of a second, and their volume will expand nearly 800 times, thus bringing dirt away from the surface of the object.

3. "Cracking". For two different materials with different thermal expansion coefficients, the temperature difference between them will destroy the combination between the two materials. The temperature of dry ice particles is extremely low (- 78.5 "C). The dry ice particles impact the surface of the treated material, causing the dirt to freeze to embrittlement and burst, resulting in" cracking "or thermal shock, and affecting the mechanical properties of adhering dirt.
